OEM GM Big Block Chevy 396 Engine Block 3855961 Dated E 19 5 Freshly

This is an original GM Big Block Chevy engine block that just came out of the estate of a long time machine shop owner and hot rodder. The casting number is 3855961. The 3855961 block was used in the 1965 and 1966 model years only. These very first Big Block Chevy blocks have become very scarce and hard to find today. Don't miss this awesome factory high performance block. This block is in very good condition overall. As stated above, it just came out of the estate of a machine shop owner who had this stashed away for a personal project that he never finish. The block has been cleaned and magnafluxed and freshly bored to 4.155 inches which is a 0.030 overbore. It has also had the head mounting/decks freshly surfaced, line honed, and has had new cam bearings and brass freeze plugs installed. This block has no cylinder sleeves, heavy corrosion, etc.  This block looks great. All threads are in good condition. This is a very nice block.
