Murphs Kits Oil Filter Guard #MU-171 for Kawasaki Concours 14, ZG1400 motorcycle. Fits all model years 2008-2022.
Fits over Kawasaki oil filter #16097-0008 (Oil Filter not included).
The placement of the oil filter on the Concours 14 is in the direct line of fire from the spray coming off the front tire. A number of folks on the Concours forum have complained about oil filter punctures from road debris, resulting in sudden engine-oil loss, leaving them stranded on the side of the road, some with engine damage, and potentially a catastrophic wreck due to engine oil coating the back tire.
This Oil Filter Guard slips over the outside of the oil filter and snugs down with a standard hose clamp, providing additional puncture protection to the body of the oil filter.
I purchased 2 of these as I have a Concours 14, and another Kawasaki motorcycle that has the exact same design flaw. Worked fabulous on the Concours 14, but I couldn't get the 2nd one to install on the other bike, so don't need this extra one lying around.
The item is new and has never been used.
